増田型中心性脈絡網膜炎と中心性網膜血管攣縮症（Central angiospastic retinopathy）との異同問題に対する桑島治三郎氏の説を読んで

The Question of whether or not there is a Difference Between Chorioretinitis Centralis Serosa and Central Angiospastic Retinonathy

　桑島氏は本誌第12巻1649頁並びに日本医事新報No．1808，105頁に増田型の中心性脈絡網膜炎と外国で言うCentral angiospastic retinopathy （以下C．a．rP．）との異同問題に関して内外の報告者の主張並びに之に関する桑島氏自身の意見を述べられている。桑島氏がこの問題を再び取り上げられた事に対しては敬意を表するが，氏の主張や意見を読んでみると，氏には増田氏や私共の主張することが正解されていないのみならず，C．a．rp．なるものの桑島氏の解釈は単に字義から出発した定義であつて現実からは離れたのものであり，C．a．rp．とは斯々の病気に「限定させたい」と云うところを「限定されている」と断定を下し，増田型とは「別にすべき」であると云うところを「別である」と断定を下したところに聊か行きすぎがあると私は思つている。以下順を追つて私の意見を述べることにする。

Dr. Kuwajima says that what is called in Japan "Chorioretinitis Centralis Serosa"(Masuda) and in the United States "Central Angiospatic Retinopathy" are two different things. According to Masuda, Hasegawa and Kitahara, Chorioretinitis Centralis Serosa in Japan is believed to originate from Chorioidea, whereas Central Angiospastic Retinopathy, accor-ding to Horniker and Gifford, results from angiospasmus of the retina. Thus the two disease appear to be two different things considered from the view point of their origin.
