農村における住民トラコーマの集団検診及び治療に就いて（第1報）—宮城県伊具郡金山町に於ける成績

Mass Examination and Treatment of Trachoma for Inhibitants of the farm area in Japan 1st Report :Case in Kanayama machi, Miyagi Prefecture

I．緒言

　戦前の徴兵検査の成績や学校身体検査の統計に徴するも，トラコーマ〔以下「ト」と略記〕は年々その罹患率の低下が認められて来たが終戦前後の混乱は「ト」を一時代に逆行せしめたと迄いわれるに到つた。其の後社会の安定と共に生活環境の改善が一般社会及び農村にも波及し，加えるに化学療法，抗生物質療法が眼科領域にも進展を見て，各地に於て盛に「ト」集団治療が行われる様になり，着々其の実を挙げていることは同慶に堪えない。

　而して諸般の社会情勢の推移に依り，農村「ト」も過去に比して相当の変化も考えられ，かつ検診に際しても衛生知識の向上と共に協力者が多くなり，更に治療面にても好成績を得ている事実が報告されている。

The author curried out mass-examination and treatment of trachoma for the inhabitants of an agricultural district in Miyagi prefecture in the year of 1953 and 1956 respectively, and obtained the following results.

In the year of 1953, treatment using 1% Oleomicin ointment was conducted twice a day.

After a month of the treatment operation-s of trachoma were jointly conducted for the cases of which the treatment was continued for 135 days.

It was effective for 473 cases (66%) of 688 patients including chronic conjunctival patients.
