台湾に於けるトラコーマ集団治療成績（第2報）

Studies on the Results of Mass-treatment against Trachoma in Formosa (Report Ⅱ)

　Oxytetracycline Chlortetracyclineがトラコーマ治療に劃期的効果もをたらすものである事は今や周知の事実であつて多くの報告がみられるが，最近Tetracyclineが出現したので，私達は今回345例の学童トラコーマに対し，0.5％Te-tracycline眼軟膏を用い，他方，383例の学童トラコーマに対し，1％　Oxytetracycline眼軟膏を用いて両者の治療成績を比較検討してみた。

In order to compare the effects of Tetracycline and Oxytetracycline on Trachoma, 0.5% Tetracycline ointment was applied on 345 cases of Trachoma in school-children and 1% Oxytetracycline ointment on 383 cases, and the results of the treatment were inves-tigated. The authors investigated the results of the treatment applying the ointment twice a day for 4 months, and the percentage of recidivation,during 6 months after recovery was also compared in the two cases.

Both of these treatments produced the good effects on Trachoma in the early stage and any difference between them was not observed.
