緒言

　交通産業に於ける各国のVisual standardについての記載をみると，color visionに関しては，各国ともそれぞれの産業の特殊性に応じた検査法が採用されている。陸海空軍や交通事業では仮性同色表の他にLantern Testの用いられている国が多い。例えば英国ではEdridge-GreenLantern, Mercantile MarineではBoardof Trade Lantern，カナダの海軍ではRoyal-Canadia-Navy Lantern，米の海軍基地ではFarnsworth Lantern等々である。Royal AirForce and Civilでは，Lanternと石原氏表の併用が規格として採られている。この他の職業適性検査法としては，着色煙・閃光・旗・SemaphoreSignals等があるが，一般に使用されるまでは規格化されていない。この他，米国の塗料関係の工場で色相配列法を採用している処がある。

　このように色覚異常の検査法は作業内容に応じて考慮されねばならないものであるが，実際に，どの種類の色覚検査法を使用したらよいかを決めるための基礎的研究が乏しいため，屡々学問的興味に基く色覚異常と産業の性格に則した色覚異常とが混同されており，このため吾国では職業適性検査法としての色覚検査に関する研究がほとんどなされていない。

The author did a few fundamental experiments of Lantern of his trial make and compared their results with those of Ishihara-Test, Okuma-Test and Anomaloscope. Consequently, he managed to determine the size of the visual target and the examinating distance which were fit to use Lantern as a aptitude test. The results of Lantern Test under the determined conditions were similar to those of Okuma-Test, and also had a close relation with those of Ishihara-Test and Anomaloscope. Lantern Test is very worthy as the aptitude test of color sense.
