　緒言

　私共は既に数回に渉つて迷路開窓術に関し報告を行つた^（1）。然し乍本手術に関しては猶論ぜらる可き多くの問題が在る。第1は手術適応決定の問題であり，第2は本手術の効果を如何にして持続せしめるかの問題である。依て本問題に関し私共の現在到達して居る見解を報告し度い。

KASHIWADO AND YAMAGISHI summarise their experience on 22 cases of labyrinthine fene-stration of which they performed as follows: (1) Fenestration operations were performed o-nly on those cases of conductive deafness who failed to improve under more conservative regi-me. Indications for Which were determined by application of following formula: X-(20+α)=Y. If Y>0, the case was oper-ated; Y=or>0, no operation was performed. X represented the patient's hearing loss in db.; α, factors for operative technic and other conditio-ns at the time of operation.

(2) Rether than covering the fenestra over co-mpletely with a mucous membrane-skin flap ta-ken from the external meatus better results were obtained when the aperture was left only partly covered.
