釜石金属鉱山における眼災害統計

Statistics of oculor accidents in Kamaishi Metal Mine

　わが国の鉄道，炭坑，各種工場，等の産業部門における眼外傷の統計は現在迄に屡々報告されているが，金属鉱山の眼外傷統計は非常にすくなく，田村（昭8），川井）昭30），の報告がある以外は殆んど見出されない。そこで私は釜石金属鉱山における眼外傷について，殊に今回は釜石金属鉱山の従業員の就業中における眼外傷について報告する事にした。

　尚従業員の就業中における眼外傷を「眼災害」，就業時以外における眼外傷を「眼私傷」，従業員家族の眼外傷を「家族眼傷」，と三区分した。釜石金属鉱山は岩手県の東南部で釜石市街より約20km北西に入つた北上山脈中にあり，従業員千数百を数え，主として鉄，銅の鉱石を採掘する鉱山である。

The obiect is 139 cases (160 eyes) ocular acciden which is occurred at Kamaishi Metal mine during 4 years from 1952 to 1955. The auther inspected the frequency of ocular accidents for each sex, each age, each season, each month, each charge, each official in the charge, each exteral wound in the cornea, etc.

The auther's result was almost in accord with the reports of ocular accidents in other metal mines, but the occurrence of electrical oculitis was relatively high in the authe's mine.
