  • Look Inside

An examination of 277 members for the pupils of the deaf school in Tochigi-prefecture revealed. 5 cases of degneratio pigmentosa retinae, 2 cases of atrophia fasciculi optici, 1 case of atrophia chorioretinae elue congenita, totalling 8 cases of the congenital diseases.

These correspond to 2.9% of 277 examinees, and to 4.0% of 202 members with congenital auditory disturbances.

Early diagnosis of these diseases are important not only from the stand point of therapeutic but also of education so the ophthalmoscopic examination is necessary for allmembers.
