流行性角結膜炎87例の観察

Observation of 87 cases of Keratoconjunctivitis epidemica

緒言

　Schneider（1938）が命名して以来一般に流行性角結膜炎と呼称されている本疾患は世界的な流行病として現在迄数回の波をもつてヨーロツパからアジア及び米大陸へと拡大しているが，第二次大戦中は特に米大陸（ハワイを含めて）に大きな流行が各地に見られたとの報告が多数あり，我国に於いても同様に流行している。しかも当初はship-yard Conjunctivitisと言われた様に，主として或特定の地域に於いて見られたのであるが最近は広く一般に浸潤している。又所謂細菌性結膜炎の減少に比して此の種のウイールス性と思われる眼疾患が注目されて来たが，本年も此の流行性角結膜炎が多発する傾向がある。私は昨年度1カ年間に観察した例に就いて述べたいと思う。

87cases were diagnosed as keratoconjunctivitis epidemica at the eye clinic of Iwamizawa mu-nicipal hospital during one year from april 1954 to march 1955. These are about 6.34% of all out-patients. Many people, especially. 30~40years old, were infected in September to Octo-ber. They are classified to 30 cases of national railway servicemen, 18 cases of farmers, and others such as a teacher, a man without occupation, a student, a public officer,hospiral perso-nnel & his family, an employee, a coalminer, a priest, and a daily employee. Family infection was found in 24 cases of 11 families, and hospital infection 9 cases.
