眼部ワクチニアにたいするVIGの使用経験

The Erfect of Vaccinia Immune Globulin on Ocular Vaccinia

緒言

　種痘眼合併症はさほど多いものではないが眼科医が時に遭遇する疾患である。当大学の所在する伊勢原市においても，本年4月第1期種痘が行なわれたのち，3名の眼部ワクチニアの患者が来院した。うら1名は眼瞼ワクチニアの子より感染した母親の例である。いずれの症例も，乾燥抗ワクチニア人免疫グロブリン（商品名ワクチニアブリン，以下，VIGと略す）の全身的および局所投与により，比較的すなやかに治癒にいたつた。本報では，これらの症例についてのVIGの使用経験を述べ，眼部ワクチニアの治療法について，検討を加えてみた。

Three individuals with ocular vaccinia were seen in April 1975. Two of them, One-year-old male and female, had primary ocular vaccinia on the eyelids. The other, 29-year-old female, mother of the boy, had vaccinia of contact on the eyelid, conjunctiva and cornea.

Vaccinia immune globulin (VIG) 1, 000 I.U. was given intramuscularly once or twice to the primary-vaccinees and 40 I.U. topically six times a day to all cases with complete cure in a short period. No side-effects were observed.

In conclusion, VIG is one of the most effective agents as a specific treatment of ocular vaccinia.
