This paper presents the results of followup study regarding the late cataract formation during the period of 1 to 5 years after glaucoma surgery in 170 eyes.

The incidence of late postoperative cataract showed a gradual increase over 50 years of age. The rate of cataract formation was 30% after Scheie's Procedure, 21% after Walser's opera-tion, 12% after peripheral iridencleisis and 13% after iridectomy.

The postoperative cataract formation seemed to be influenced by numerous factors as delayed anterior chamber formation, postoperative irido-cyclitis, minor surgical trauma among others.
