眼科手術患者の術前における結膜嚢細菌培養成績と抗生物質の影響について（第2報）—Gentamicin （Gentacin,Schering,U．S．A．）点眼の効果

緒言

　私どもは，前報^1）報において当科入院手術患者57例62眼について，手術前に結膜嚢を無菌化するためにcephaloridine （CER）を，点眼し，その前後に結膜嚢の細菌培養を行なつた結果，genta—micin （GM）が検出菌に対して最大の感受性を示し，かつ耐性菌株が最も少ないことを明らかにした。今回はその成績に基づいて，GMを手術前の眼に点眼し，その前後の結膜嚢内細菌の消長について検討した。

　GMはMicromonospora purpureaにより産生される抗生物質で，広範囲の病原菌に強い抗菌作用を示す，いわゆる広範囲抗生物質の一つである。GMは第1図に示すような構造式のGenta—micin sulfate C₁，C_1a，C₂の混合物で，その性状は白色非結晶性粉末で，温度，湿度，光に対してきわめて安定な塩基性，水溶性物質である。

Gentamicin ophthalmic solution (0.4%) was applied to 76 patients during the presurgical period to disinfect the conjunctival sac. Cultiva-tion of bacteria in the conjunctival sac was made with heart infusion agar and brain-heart infusion bouillon before and after treatment with gentamicin. The isolated bacteria were tested as to their sensitivity to penicillin G, streptomycin, chloramphenicol, erythromycin, sulfisoxazole, tetracyclin, kanamycin, cephalori-dine, lincomycin, gentamicin and colimycin. The studies resulted in the following findings.
