I．緒言

　オレアンドマイシン（Oleandomycin，以下OLMと略記）はSobin等に依り，Strepto-myces antibioticsの一菌種より分離された新抗生物質であり，化学的，物理的性質により，エリスロマイシン（EM）類似の抗生物質で，EM，カーボマイシン，ロイコマイシン（LM），スピラマイシン，ノボビオン等に近似のものとされている。

　OLMの特性としては，他の多くの抗生物質との間に交叉耐性を示さず，ペニシリンやEMと併用して相乗作用を認め，サイクリン系抗生物質との合剤は協力作用があると云われ，海外にては既に此の合剤が使用されている様である。

The author-made 1% Oleandomycin ointment was applied to various conjunctival diseases tentatively.

On the bacterially caused blepharal and conjunctival diseases it was used once a day for 7 to 10 days, and most of the cases were healed.

On trachoma it was used twice a day, and the effective rate (for healing and semi-healing) was 55.3% of the patients in primary school and 63.9% in junior high school.

On kerotoconjunctivitis epidemica it was ineffective. When it is used in a long term, allergic blepharitis and the like will be occasionally brought forth as ill effects.
