Side Effects of Intravenous Sodium Fluorescein in Fluorescence Fundus Angiography with Special Reference to Intracutaneous Test of the Drug

緒言

　1961年にNovotny＆Alvisよつて，はじめて発表された螢光眼底撮影法は，1964年に藤沢，谷らによつてわが国に導入され，以後急速に眼底疾患診断に重要な位置をしめるに至つた。

　しかし，本法の普及とともに，フルオレスセィン−ナトリウム（以後Fluo-Naと略す）静注時の副作用の問題が注目されはじめている。

A study was made of 146 cases on side eff-ects of intravenous sodium fluorescein in fluo-rescence fundus angiography with special re-ference to intracutaneous test of the drug. The results obtained were as follows :

1) Side effects were seen in 25 (17%) out of 146 cases which received 5 cc of 10% sodium fluorescein.

2) The most frequent side effect was nausea 'urticaria, hypersalivation, rhinorrhoea and ch-ill were encountered in a few cases.

3) Incidence of side effects in a positive group of the test was 21%, while the incidence in a negative group was 15%.
