角膜の上皮再生に有効なキャベジン点眼

Facilitation of Regeneration of the Corneal Epithelium by Cabagin Instillation

緒言

　角膜の上皮欠損は，眼痛，羞明，異物感，流涙など不快な症状をもたらすもので，これをなるべく早く上皮再生により治癒させることは眼科医のつとめである。しかし上皮欠損にも，角膜ヘルペス，角膜火傷3度のように難治なものもある。それらすべての場合に有効確実な点眼薬は眼科医の切望するところであるが，未だ市販されていない。筆者はかつてより，かかる例にキャベジンの結膜下注射が有効であることを確かめ，1961年眼臨55巻に発表した。最近より簡便な方法としてキャベジン注射液を点眼液として使用したところ，結膜下注射に劣らない効果を確認した。例数は多くないが，全例に例外なく著効であつた。ことに難治の角膜ヘルペス，角膜火傷3度にも著効を呈した。薬剤の入手も使用も容易で一般眼科臨床に普及すればまことに喜ばしい療法であると確信し，これを発表する。

An ophthalmic solution of Cabagin, methyl-methionine-sulfonium-chloride, has been topically applied to herpes of the cornea and to corneal erosions. Repeated applications of the 3% solu-tion resulted in prompt disappearance of pho-tophobia, lacrimation, ocular pain or foreign body sensation within a few days. The treat-ment also brought to prompt cure of epithelial defects of the cornea in 5 cases of herpes simp-lex of the cornea, 1 case of third-degree corneal burn and 3 cases of corneal erosion. No unto-ward complication has been observed throughout the study.
