成人弱視眼の自然治癒例について

The Visual Improvement of Amblyopia in Adult Patients

I．緒言

　小児の弱視眼と異なり成人の弱視眼は弱視練習の困難さ，効果に対する疑問などによりほとんど放置されたままになつている現況である。しかしながらDünkel^1）（1960），Aichmair^2）（1963），Tillson^3）（1967），Hund—son,Walker^4）（1967）は成人の弱視患者にPleopticsを行ない視力の改善を認めた症例を報告している。これらの症例はいずれも健眼が失明したために弱視眼のPleopticsを行なつたものであつて，このことは成人の弱視眼でも視力の改善が期待できるという希望を与えるものである。

　著者は健眼が網膜剥離のため失明，または相当の期間失明に近い状態になつたのに対して，一方の弱視眼が自然に視力を回復した2症例を経験したので報告したい。

Two interesting cases of unilateral amblyopia in adult patients were reported.

Sixty-five and thirty-seven year-old males had lost their vision of the normally-fixing eye due to the retinal detachment. They were then forced to use the amblyopic eye, and visual acuity of the amblyopic eye improved spontaneously without any pleoptic treatment.
