  • Look Inside

The strong convex lens with an aspherical surface was made so as to diminish the optical defect inherent in the spherical lens. The visual functions of the aphakic patients wearing such aspherical lenses were tested and compared to the cases of the ordinary spectacle lenses. The ring scotoma viewed through the cataract lens became narrower by wearing the aspherical glasses. The distortion of space perception, measured with the devised apparatus, was dec-reased also by the use of the aspherical lenses. These results were discussed in the light of the optical properties of the aspherical lens.
