Clinical Experience with Indomethacin (Inteban) in Ophthalmology

I．はじめに

　副腎皮質製剤の卓効の反面における重篤な副作用が，改めて認識されており，これに代わるいわゆる非ステロイド性抗炎剤の開発が盛んに行なわれている。

　その一つとして抗炎症，鎮痛，解熱作用のあるIndomethacinが各科領域を通じて広く用いられつつあり，すでに眼科領域でも二，三の報告がみられる。

A clinical appraisal was made on the possible antiinflammatory effect of Indomethacin (Inte-ban) following peroral application. It was used for alleviation of postsurgical inflammatory conditions (46 cases) and for primary ocular inflammations (39 cases). It proved effective in 38 cases (82%) of 46 cases following surgery for cataract, glaucoma, retinal detachment, pterygium or squint. It further proved effective in 26 out of 39 cases (67%) with various inflammatory conditions of the eye. Episcleritis and traumatic iritis responded particularly favourably to the therapy.
