春季カタルについて

Acute Vernal Conjunctivitis

I．はじめに

　昭和28年小口，内木氏らにより「近年多発せる急性春季カタル」と題して発表され，引き続き昭和29年上岡，伊藤氏らの追加報告があつた。本症の原因についてはまだ不明の点も少なくないが，花粉説が唱えられ小口氏らの詳細な報告がある。一方急性春季カタルの存在に関しては，すでに一，二の教科書にも記載されているが，われわれ第一線の実地医には，学生時代に習得した春季カタルすなわち結膜に石垣状の乳嘴の増殖，牛乳をかけたような混濁というイメージが浸透しているためか，一般にはまだ本症に対する認識が薄いように思われる。

　そこでわれわれは今夏比較的多数の春季カタルを経験したので，そのいくつかを症例報告的に述べる。

Twenty-eight cases are described who were diagnosed as acute vernal conjunctivitis, a cli-nical entity first proposed by Oguchi in 1953. In the majority of cases, subjective symptoms became more manifest during July and Angust. In juvenile patients, the findings simulated that of acute bacterial conjunctivitis or phlyctanule of the bulbar conjunctiva with local itchiness as chief complaints. In less severe cases in whom objective findings were not pronounced, the diagnosis was made after detection of eo-sinophilia in the conjunctival smear.
