小児全身麻酔手術の精神的管理

Psychological Management of Pre and Post Operative Procedure in Childhood in General Anesthesia.

I．緒言

　最近，小児に対する手術の必要性が各診療科において増えてきているが，眼科領域においてもその例外でなく，斜視や白内障手術が，小児の視覚発達過程から考えて，早期に必要となつたため，従来より以上に，小児眼科が独立して手術を行なう機会が多くなつている。

　第1図は，大阪市立小児保健センター眼科において，昭和41年1月より7月までの6カ月間に手術を行なつた177名の年齢分布であるが，3歳4歳，5歳，6歳に，特に高い分布を示している。

The necessity for the strabismus and cata-ract surgery to be conducted during an early age of life, preferably while the visual ability is still developing, resulted in considerable in-crease in the number of young patients to be operated on in recent times. There rose a grave danger that psychological injury might result if the same surgical procedures were to be pra-cticed as in adult patients.

Preventive measures including psychological management of the patients who undergo gene-ral anesthesia have actively been practiced as routine procedure by the authors.
