α—Mercaptopropionyl glycine （Thiola）の眼科的適用について

Ophthalmological Use of α-Mercaptopro-pionyl Glycine (Thiola)

I．緒言

　最近Glucocorticoidが勝れた消炎並びに抗アレルギー作用を有するため，その適応も広がり又その用量も大量使用されるようになつた。然るにこの大量投与，又は長期間持続投与のため，種々の副作用が発現し，現在ではその副作用も軽視するにしのびずして，副作用に就いての報告，又は副作用に対する対策に関する報告も数多く見られるようになつた。

　眼科領域の副作用を大別しても，

Animal and clinical studies were performed over effects of systemically applied Thiola. Schultz-Dale reaction in rabbits was inhibited by Thiola at the concentration of 0.025%. Anti-histamic and anti-serotonic action was noted when the concentrarion was set at 0.1% Thiola was effective in inhibiting cutaneous reaction at 0.025%. It was also effective in curing the experimentally produced keratitis when applied subconjunctivally at the conce-ntration of 2.5%.
