網膜色素変性症の病因解析に対する基礎実験（網膜アンモニウムについて）

Ammonium base in the retina as pathogenic factor of retinitis pigmentosa

Ⅰ．緒言

　実験的網膜色素変性症の概念は1929年頃Rie—hmがSeptojodを用いて，家兎について行なつた実験に始まり，次いでScheerer, Sorsby，Noell, Newhaus, Lucus, Nakajima, Mizuno等に依り進歩発展せしめられたことは周知の事実である。著者等は，アンモニウム化合物，中間代謝産物等，17種類の薬物を用いて，家兎に網膜変性をおこすことを試み，中でもアンモニウム化合物による網膜変性が，特に興味ある結果を得たので報告する。

Experimental studies were performed over the hypothesis that the retinal degeneration can be induced when ammonium metabolism in the retina is inhibited.

0.2cc of ammonium compound solution was injected into the rabbit vitreous after Zur-Nedden's method. 20 days after the procedure fundus examination was performed and then the eyeball was enucleited to detail histolo-gical study. After fixation with Zenker's agent, the tissue was stained with eosin-hematoxylin staining or with Mallory's glia staining.

Retinal pigment degeneration was found ophthalmoscopically in 16 cases given ammo-nium chloride injection.
