Kimmelstiel-Wilson症候群の剖検所見について

Histological Study on a Case of Kimmelstiel-Wilson Syndrome.

I．緒言

　糖尿病患者の大部分がInsuline療法の導入により，更には食餌療法の改善により寿命が長くなつたが眼の障害は防ぐことが出来ず失明の原因として糖尿病の重要さが増して来た。糖尿病の眼の障害としては糖尿病性網膜症，白内障，虹彩毛様体炎等があげられている。

　糖尿病による網膜の障害についてはJäger（1856），Leber （1857）等の検眼鏡的所見をはじめとしてHirschberg^1）Ballantyne and Löwen—stein，^2）Friedenward，^3）Ashton，^4）Gartner^5）等の詳細な所見が報告されている。

A 52 years old man, who had been attacked with diabetes for about 25 years, was compli-cated by diabetic retinopathy, renal insuffici-ency and severe albuminuria. Necropsy was performed and several peculiar findings were as follows:

Histological preparation of the eye ball shows retinal microaneurysm, subhyaloid he-morrhage, peculiar thickening of the retinal layers and retention of subretinal fluid. De-posit of hyaline material in the glomerulus of the kidney, which is charasteristic of Kim-melstiel-Wilson Syndrome, is observed.
