Histological findings of retina in Kimmelstiel-Wilson syndrome

Ⅰ．緒言

　Kimmelstiel-Wilson症候群に属する症例を臨床的に相遇する機会は，眼科においても多いが，それを剖見することは本邦に於いては容易に得られない。私共は，幸いにその1例をみる機会を得たので，その結果をここに報告すると共に，最近この症候群に関する諸家の見解を参考させて頂くことにした。

A fifthy-one year old male with Kimmel-stiel-Wilson syndrome had suffered from dia-betes for seventeen years and diabetic retino-pathy for three years and a half before he died. A postmortem examination disclosed following findings :

In the buldi oculi recently formed blood vessels starting from vascular loop, macular bleeding, and star figures in the macular areawere observed.

In the kidney hyaline deposit in the glome-ruli, especially in the peripheral capillaries were observed.
