I.緒言
著者は静岡県下に於ける盲人調査の一環として県立沼津盲学校生徒の検診をおこない,その失明原因を調査したのでここに報告する。
A report is presented over the ocular fin-dings of 119 pupils attending the Numazu School for the Blind in Shizuoka Prefecture in southeast Japan. Chief findings were:
1. Both sexes were equally involved with male-female ratio of 52.1% vs. 47.9%.
2. 90.8% of cases were less than 20 years of age.
3. 77.3% of cases had visual acuity of less than 0.1 and 29.4% had less than 0.02.
4.64% of cases were congenitally blind and 79.2% became practically blind before the age of 10.
