千葉県におけるトラコーマの最近の実態

Recent status of the trachoma in Chiba prefecture

Ⅰ．緒言

　近年，眼疾患が他科領域の疾患と同様に，医学の進歩，環境特に生活程度の変化等によつて著しく変わつて来ている事は誰しも気付く所である。この事はトラコーマに就いても明らかに感ぜられる点である。私共の外来においても，ここ数年来トラコーマな患者の著明な減少に注目している所であるが，なかんずく定型的なトラコーマを見る機会は極めて稀になり，学生に供覧するにも事欠くようになつて来た。

　しかし，それには大学病院の特殊性が考えられるところから，当然一般の地方病院における実情如何は私共の特に知りたいところである。

In an attempt to investigate the present status of the trachoma in Chiba prefecture letters were sent to all the practising oph-thalmologists in the prefecture asking to submit report on patients with trachoma who visited their clinics in 1962.

Twenty-eight ophthalmologists made report on their patients as requested. The result of their report is as follows :

1) The new patients who visited those ophthalmologists in 1962 totalled 100, 202, of which 5. 142 patients were diagnosed as hav-ing trachoma (excluding trachoma dubium) which was 5.1% of all the new patients.
