長崎県五島におけるトラコーマ検診成績

Results of Mass Inspection of Tr. at Goto in Nagasaki Prefecture

1．緒言

　我々の教室に於ては今日迄に，トラコーマに関する多くの研究がなされており，トの集団検診に関しても，東京都内，東京近郊，埼玉県内，千葉県白浜及び秋田県下に於て，乳幼児，学童及び成人と各年令層にわたつて広く行つて，多くの業績をあげている。我々はこれらの多くの成績を綜合し，更にトの発病及びトの全経過の推移を知る為に，ト蔓延地に於ける全住民の検診を企図し，昭和31年8月下旬から3カ月間にわたり教室から国友教授他4名と地元の嵩博士を加えた人員で，長崎県五島に於てトの集団検診及び治療を行つた。従来多く行われている小中学校の学童検診に比して，全住民に対する検診は，非常に意義が大であるが，其の遂行には，多くの困難を伴つて来ることは言をまたない。幸に我々は長崎県，福江市及び地元諸関係者の方々の絶大な協力と住民の理解と協力により，企図した目的を達成し，いささか成果を収めたので報告する。

As a link of studies to know complete course of non-treated Tr, at Sakiyama and Nagate, outskirts of Fukue City, Goto, Nagasaki prefecture, thorough investigation was performed for all the residents. Investigating 3,314 cases, from the new born to aged, many new facts on actual state of Tr, were discovered in these highly contaminated districts. It was testified contaminated districts. It was testified that the initial symptoms of Tr, as previously reported, appeared as subacute A or B type, by 12th month after the birth. This fact was same in hygineous districts and in contaminated districts such as Goto.
