主として網膜剥離に対するDextran-Mの効果について

Dextran-M treatment for ocular diseases. Mainly retinal detachment

　糖液にLeuconostoc mesenteroides （乳酸菌の一種）を作用させて得られた高分子の多糖類であるDextranが，1944年Ingelmanによつて代用血漿として用いられてより，plasma sub—stituteあるいはPlasma expanderとしての名声を維持すること今日に及んでいる。つまりDe—tranはL−1.6結合が60％以上，右旋性を持つた分子量の非常に大きいグルコースの重合物で，分子量は名糖産業KKの製品では75,000±25,00とアルブミンの分子量に近似している。

　更に多糖類の硫酸エステルであるHeparinに類似したDextran-Sulfateも製造され，2,000〜3,000の低分子量で血液凝固阻止作用を著明に見るため，眼科方面でも三国氏他の網膜静脈血栓症に対する治効成績がすでに発表されている。

Dextran-M having the average molecular weight 20,000±2,000 was administered in many of eye diseases, a dose of 50cc or 100cc intravenously, once daily.

Using it against 5 retinal detachments after operation generally, the improvement of the visual acuity and the field of vision was noticed excepting for the old type.

Further Dextran-M was effective in retinitis centralis, herpes zoster, episcleritis perio-dica fugax and skin-transplantation to ectropium palpebrae with lagophthalmus, etc.
