Abstract. Purpose:To report the effect and patients' satisfaction of newly developed eyeglasses with colored occluder. Cases and Method:This study was made on 29 patients who had difficulty in keeping both eyes open due to diplopia or diseases inhibiting binocular vision. The series comprised 12 males and 17 females. The age ranged from 30 to 87 years, average 60 years. The effect was evaluated by questionnaire after trial of the device for more than 2 weeks. Results:Subjective symptoms improved in 62% of cases. Difficulty in peripheral fusion or impaired visual field in the periphery was the main factor in cases who reported no improvement. Complaints about the design or feeling during use were useful in improving the device. Conclusion:Eyeglasses with colored occlude proved effective for patients with difficulty in keeping both eyes open.
