Abstract. Purpose:To report the current status of medication for normal-tension glaucoma(NTG)and primary open-angle glaucoma(POAG). Method:This survey was made by 3,074 patients who visited one of 30 institutions for glaucoma during 7 days in November 2009. Results:NTG and POAG comprised 45.4% and 32.4% respectively in the whole series. Patients received an average of 1.4±0.7 medications for NTG and 2.1±1.0 for POAG. The difference was significant. Among patients under monotherapy, latanoprost was the most frequent in both groups. Unoprostone ranked as the second for NTG and timolol for POAG. Among patients receiving two medications, combination of prostaglandin-related drugs and beta-blocker was the most frequent for NTG and POAG. When compared with the survey in 2007,latanoprost was less frequently used for NTG. There was no difference regarding dual medications. Conclusion:NTG was the most frequent type of glaucoma. Latanoprost was most frequently used for NTG and POAG. There was a difference in medication between NTG and POAG.
