Abstract. Purpose:To report factors related to final visual outcome in perforating ocular injury. Cases and Method:This retrospective study was made on 22 eyes of 22 cases who were treated by for perforating ocular injury in the past 5 years. The series comprised 18 males and 4 females. The age ranged from 3 to 66 years, average 35 years. Cases were subjected to multiple regression analysis regarding preoperative factors including initial visual acuity, age, hyphema, vitreous and subchoroidal hemorrhage, and retinal detachment. Results:Final visual acuity was significantly related with initial visual acuity and presence of vitreous hemorrhage(p<0.05). Conclusion:Visual outcome may be poor in perforating ocular injury with poor initial visual acuity or vitreous hemorrhage.
