Abstract. Purpose:To report a case of orbital metastasis from breast cancer treated by stereotactic radiotherapy. Case:A 41-year-old woman presented with discomfort in her right eye. She had been diagnosed with advanced breast carcinoma with systemic metastases 10 months before and been receiving systemic chemotherapy. Findings:The right eye showed blepharoptosis. A tumor was present posterior to the upper eyelid. Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)showed a tumor near the upper orbital margin. F-18 fluorodexy glucose positron emission tomography(FDP-PET)showed massive accumulation of FDP. Biopsy led to the diagnosis of metastasis from breast cancer. The orbital tumor was treated by stereotactic radiotherapy totalling 65Gy applied in 26 sessions. The tumor regressed 6 months later. There has been no recurrence for 9 months until present. Conclusion:Stereotactic radiotherapy was safe and effective for orbital metastasis from breast cancer.
