Abstract. Purpose:To report the outcome of intravitreal bevacizumab for branch retinal vein occlusion with macular edema. Cases:This study was made on 23 eyes of 23 patients of branch retinal vein occlusion with macular edema. The age ranged from 40 to 81 years, average 64 years. Cases were followed up for 6 months or longer after treatment regarding visual acuity and foveal thickness measured by optical coherence tomography(OCT). Results:Visual acuity and foveal thickness started to significantly improve from one week after treatment. There was no recurrence of macular edema in 6 eyes(26%)with persistent improvement for 12 months. Visual acuity at final visit was good in eyes that maintained continuous inner and outer segments of photoreceptors by OCT. Conclusion:Intravitreal bevacizumab was followed by improvement of visual acuity and foveal thickness in eyes of branch retinal vein occlusion with macular edema.
