Abstract. Purpose:To report changes in intraocular pressure(IOP)after switching from latanoprost to travoprost. Cases and Method:This study was made on 85 eyes of 48 cases of glaucoma. The series comprised 25 eyes of primary open-angle glaucoma and 60 eyes of normal-tension glaucoma. The baseline level of IOP averaged 18.4±3.4 mmHg. After treatment with latanoprost for 35.3±13.2 months,IOP averaged 14.7±2.6 mmHg. IOP was monitored for 3 months after switching to travoprost. Results:After 1,2,3 months of treatment with travoprost,IOP significantly decreased from the value before switching(p<0.0001). Rate of IOP decrease averaged 27.2%,28.3% and 29.9% respectively from the baseline level. At 3 months after switching,IOP was the same or lower in 77 eyes(78%)and higher in 19 eyes(22%). Conclusion:IOP decreased significantly after switching from latanoprost to travoprost. There is a possibility that travoprost alone may lower the IOP from baseline value except refractory cases.
