カルテオロールとラタノプロストの併用による眼圧下降効果

Ocular hypotensive effect of combined instillation of carteolol and latanoprost

要約　カルテオロールまたはラタノプロストを単独で使用していて，病期に応じた目標眼圧に達していない16例16眼に対し，もう一方の点眼薬を追加したときの眼圧下降効果と副作用をprospectiveに検索した。症例の内訳は，原発開放隅角緑内障12眼と正常眼圧緑内障4眼である。その結果，目標達成が，カルテオロール追加群8眼中4眼（50％），ラタノプロスト追加群8眼中5眼（63％）で得られた。6か月以上の最終観察時点での平均眼圧には，両群間に有意差がなかった。角膜障害が5眼（31％）に生じた以外には，特に副作用はなかった。以上の所見は，カルテオロールとラタノプロストの併用療法が良好な眼圧下降効果を示すことと，他の組み合わせよりも角膜障害の発生頻度が低いことを示している。

Abstract.　We prospectively evaluated the effect of combined instillation of carteolol and latanoprost in 16 eyes of 16 patients. These patients had been using either carteolol or latanoprost without achieving the desired reduction of intraocular pressure（IOP）. The series comprised primary open-angle glaucoma 12 eyes and normal-tension glaucoma 4 eyes. Reduction of IOP below the target was obtained in 4 out of 8 carteolol-added eyes（50％）and in 5 out of 8 latanoprost-added eyes（63％）. There was no difference between the two groups regarding the final IOP value after 6months of combined instillation. There were no serious side effects except corneal disorder in 5 eyes（31％）. The findings show that combined instillation induces an effective IOP reduction and that this treatment results in lesser incidence of corneal disorder other therapeutic modalities.
