Abstract. Purpose:To report a case of corneal perforation treated by transplantation of preserved amniotic membrane. Case:A 34-year-old male presented with noninfectious corneal ulcer in his right eye. He had history of diabetes mellitus, hepatitis B,and chronic myelogenous leukemia. He had received transplantation of stem cells 30 months before followed by chronic graft-versus-host disease(GVHD)5 months later. He has been receiving immunosuppressive agents. He had also developed severe dry eye. Clinical Course:The corneal ulcer perforated on day 2 of the disease. Soft contact lens, corneal preservative drugs,or antibiotics was ineffective. He received transplantation of multilayer amniotic membrane on day 38. Corneal epithelium regenerated 87 days later followed by no recurrence for one year. Conclusion:Transplantation of preserved amniotic membrane may be effective for noninfectious corneal perforation.
