Abstract. Purpose:To report a juvenile case of central retinal vein occlusion. Case:A 16-year-old male presented with impaired visual acuity in the right eye since one week before. Findings:Corrected visual acuity was 0.5 right and 1.5 left. The right eye showed retinal hemorrhage associated with hyperemia of optic disc and tortuous veins. Hematological findings were within normal limits except leukocytosis. Fluorescein angiography showed no occlusion of vascular bed or cystoid macular edema. He was treated by peroral aspirin and prednisolone. Fundus findings improved one month later with visual acuity of 1.2 right. Conclusion:There is a high possibility that nonischemic central retinal vein in this patient was secondary to optic disc vasculitis.
