Abstract. Purpose:To report the outcome of trabeculectomy with scleral tunnel and fornix-based conjunctival flap for glaucoma. Cases and Method:This retrospective study was made on 17 eyes that received this surgery. The series comprised 3 eyes of normal-tension glaucoma and 14 eyes of primary open-angle glaucoma. Intraocular pressure(IOP)before surgery averaged 23.3 mmHg. Results:IOP averaged 10.7mmHg 12 months and 12.0 mmHg 24 months after surgery. Both decreases in IOP were significant(p<0.005). Final IOP decreased below 20 mmHg in 94% and below 15 mmHg in 82% of eyes. It decreased by 30% below the initial value in 100% of eyes. Conclusion:The present surgical modality induces significant decrease of IOP in eyes with normal-tension or primary open-angle glaucoma.
