Purpose:To evaluate optical coherence tomography(OCT)ophthalmoscope in measuring retinal thickness. Method:Topography mode of an OCT ophthalmoscope(OTI,NIDEK)was used to measure the foveal thickness in 12 normal eyes. Measurement was performed for 2 and 4 seconds. Results:There was a positive correlation between foveal thickness measured for 2 and 4 seconds(r=0.92,p<0.01). Foveal thickness in 9 normal eyes by OCT ophthalmoscope for 2 seconds and OCT-3000 ranged between 120 and 210μm. There was no significant correlation between values measured by two methods(r=0.42,p>0.05). Conclusion:Foveal thickness measured by OCT ophthalmoscope did not coincide with that by OCT-3000. It is possible to measure the retinal thickness by selecting any site from recorded three-dimensional fundus image with the present method.
