Abstract. Purpose:To report the outcome of treatment for malignant lymphoma of the ocular adnexa. Cases and Method:This retrospective study was made on 19 cases of malignant lymphoma of the ocular adnexa diagnosed and treated during the past 10 years. The series comprised 15 males and 4 females. The age ranged from 25 to 84 years, average 58 years. Malignant lymphoma involved the conjunctiva only in 7 cases and extended into the orbit in 12 cases. All were diagnosed with MALT lymphoma except one case of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma of the orbit. Results:Cure was obtained in all the cases of conjunctival type after radiation therapy. Some young of orbital type resisted radiation therapy and had to be treated by chemotherapy or anti-monoclonal antibody(rituximab)to achieve improvement. Conclusion:Malignant lymphoma of the orbit in young persons may prove resistant to or recur after radiation therapy. These cases may need chemotherapy or rituximab from early stage of the disease.
