Abstract.　Purpose：To report the results and problems about application for certificate of visually handicapped status by glaucoma patients. Objects and Method：This review was made on 35 glaucoma patients who visited Inouye Eye Hospital and who applied for certificate of visually impaired status. Results：Application for grade 1 and 2, particularly for grade 2 visual field defect, was the most frequent and amounted to 65％ of the 35 cases. Thirteen cases applied for certificate of double disorders. Nine cases applied for visual aids. Conclusion：Current criteria for visual disorders are defective regarding visual field defects due to glaucoma. Application for double disorders is recommended for glaucoma patients in order to include assistance for visual aids.
