正常眼圧緑内障患者における持続型カルテオロール点眼薬の効果

Effects of long-acting carteolol on eyes with normal-tension glaucoma

要約　目的：正常眼圧緑内障に対する持続型カルテオロール点眼の効果の報告。対象と方法：正常眼圧緑内障37例37眼を対象とした。アルギン酸添加塩酸カルテオロール2％点眼液を1日1回点眼させ，12か月間の眼圧を測定した。Humphrey視野検査を投与前と投与12か月後に行った。結果：眼圧は投与前17.0±1.8mmHg，投与6か月後14.6±2.0mmHg，投与12か月後14.6±1.7mmHgで，有意に下降した（p＜0.0001）。投与開始後12か月間の眼圧下降幅は2.2～2.6mmHg，眼圧下降率は12.7～14.7％であった。投与前後での視野に平均偏差（mean deviation）の変化はなかった。副作用のため，2例（5.1％）で点眼を中止した。結論：アルギン酸添加塩酸カルテオロール2％点眼薬は，正常眼圧緑内障に対し，良好な眼圧下降効果と安全性がある。

Abstract.　Purpose：To report the effect of long-acting carteolol on eyes with normal-tension glaucoma. Cases and Method：This study was made on 37 eyes of 37 patients with normal-tension glaucoma. Each patient received 2％ long-acting carteolol once a day up to 12 months. Visual field was evaluated by Humphrey perimeter before and 12 months after start of study. Results：Intraocular pressure（IOP）averaged 17.0±1.8 mmHg before and 14.6±2.0 mmHg 6 months after start of instillation. The difference was significant（p＜0.0001）. During 12 months of instillation,IOP decreased by 2.2 to 2.6 mmHg,or by 12.7 to 14.7％. There was no change in mean deviation of visual field before and after instillation. Treatment had to be discontinued in 2 cases（5.1％）due to adverse effects. Conclusion：Long-acting carteolol is effective and safe for normal-tension glaucoma.
