Abstract. A 25-year-old female was referred to us for bilateral blurring of vision. She showed anterior uveitis and exudative retinal detachment in both eyes. She was diagnosed with Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada(VKH)disease. Her intraocular lesions improved following systemic corticosteroid therapy. Retinal detachment resolved 4 weeks after initiation of treatment. Four months after onset, she developed multiple loss of hair in the scalp,or alopecia.Biopsy showed intact hair roots surrounded by infiltrated lymphatocytes. She then received application of corticosteroid cream in the areas of alopecia. Regeneration of hairs started one month after start of treatment. The density of hairs became normal 3 months later. This case illustrates that topical application of corticosteroid may be effective for alopecia in VKH disease.
