Purpose:To report the incidence and associated features of ciliary cyst as detected by endoscopic observation during cataract surgery. Cases and Method:This study involved 354 eyes of 267 patients who received cataract surgery during a 12-month period. The series comrised 138 eyes of 108 males and 216 eyes of 159 females. An endoscope was inserted into the anterior chamber after removal of lens nucleus. Pars plicata and plana was observed through the lens cortex. Results:Ciliary cyst was detected in 17 cases(6.4%). The series comprised 6 males(10.2%)and 11 females(4.1%). The difference was significant(p<0.05). There was no case of bilateral involvement. The ages averaged 69.4 years for cases with cyliary cyst and 73.8 years for those without. The difference was significant(p<0.05). There was no difference between the two groups regarding levels of serum cholesterol. Conclusion:Cyst of ciliary body was present in 17 out of 354 eyes(4.8%). It was more frequent in younger age group and in males.
