  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

We asked ten healthy adults to play a game using a Braun tube and a head-mounted display system. We paid particular attention to the occurrence of seasickness or related symptoms. The subjects were tested for visual and balance sence before and after playing the game. The refraction showed significant but minor changes after playing the game. No consequences of clinical importance were detected by other tests. Each player showed different movements in head position while playing the game. This difference appeared to depend on the individual skill in the game. No abnormal head position persisted after the end of playing. No subject developed symptoms related to seasickness. There was no difference between viewing the Braun tube and the head-mounted display system throughout.
