Purpose:To describe a technique to reposition the dislocated intraocular lens(IOL)without extraction and to harbor the dislocated IOL onto a viscoadaptive viscoelastic agent for its secure retrieval. Methods:After pars plana vitrectomy,a viscoadaptive viscoelastic material is applied onto the retina,to which the dislocated IOL is brought and placed in an upright position. The IOL is then seized by vitreous forceps. The haptic is made to protrude through a corneal wound, sutured, and returned into the eye to be sulcus-fixated. This method was applied to six eyes of dislocated IOL. Results:This technique was easy to manipulate. As minor accident, the IOL was repositioned with tilting in a case of preexisiting damaged IOL hinge and in another case of one-piece acrylic IOL. Conclusion:The present technique is recommended for indicated cases of dislocated IOL.
