  • Look Inside

A 27-year-old man was referred to us for uveitis of recent onset. Corrected visual acuity was 1.0 in either eye. Both eyes showed keratitic precipitates, nodules in the chamber angle, and vitreous opacity. Additional systemic findings led to the diagnosis of sarcoidosis syndrome. Ocular inflammation disappeared after 11 months of treatment with topical corticosteroid alone. He noticed metamorphopsia in the left eye one year later. Funduscopy showed an elevated submacular lesion with serous retinal detachment. Similar smaller lesions were also present in both eyes. Visual acuity was not affected. The condition was diagnosed as choroidal sarcoid granuloma. The lesions turned into atrophic scar 13 months later without resort to corticosteroid. This case illustrates that choroidal granuloma may undergo spontaneous remission.
