Purpose:To report a case of uveitis with optic disc neovascularization treated by subtenon injection of triamcinolone acetonide. Case:A 26-year-old female with uveitis in the left eye since 15 months and in the right eye since 6 months before. Findings and Clinical Course:Initial corrected visual acuity was 0.2 right and 0.4 left. Both eyes showed iridocyclitis, retinal vasculitis, vitreous opacity and hemorrhage, and disc neovascularization. She was diagnosed with granulomatous uveitis. Fluorescein angiography failed to show retinal nonperfusion. Tuberculin test was positive. She received four sessions of subtenon injection of 20 mg triamcinolone at the interval of 2 weeks. Disc neovasculariation regressed after the treatment. Visual acuity improved to 1.0 right and 1.2 left 3 months after start of treatment. Conclusion:This case illustrates that subtenon injection of triamcinolone may be effective for disc neovascularization secondary to uveitis.
