  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

In 8 rabbits with experimentally induced hypnotic poisoning, 100 mg of CDP-choline were injected intravenously at one time or more and their EEG changes were observed. In all cases their EEG showed a tendency of recovery after CDP-choline injection, in 5 cases their EEG showed arousal pat-terns in 30 to 40 minutes after injection. Their effective periods of CDP-choline were about 40 to 60 minutes, after this period EEG changes returned imediately to patterns of the untreated period. These effects of repeated administration appeared more rapidly and continued than on first administ-ration. Their effects were transient and we suspect that the repeated or continuous administration of CDP-choline will be good results. CDP-choline is supposed to be an effective drug on the treatment of unconsciousness of acute hypnotic poisoning as well as head injuries.
