  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

1) A methodological study of the roentgen-craniometry in clinical neurology is made-problems in identifying the landmarks on the craniogram and problems of errors due to the technic of projection and mensura-tion are discussed.

2) A statistical study is made on plain craniograms of ca.500 normal individuals and ca.50 patients by the following items: ① Measurements of the cranium as a whole ② Measurements pertaining to basilar im-pression and platybasia ③ Localization of the pineal calcification ④ Measurements of sella turcica.

3) Among the base lines for the measurement of basilar impression McGregor's line, orbi-tooccipital line and Fischgold-Metzger' di-gastric line have proved to be more useful.

4) Three new methods for the localization of the pineal calcification are proposed: ① The polar coordinates method originated on the tuberculum sellae. ② The rectangular coordinates method originated on the tuber-culum sellae. ③ The rectangular coordinates method based on the clivus line. These co-ordinates methods based on the base of the skull have proved to be both more convenie-nt and effective than the con-ventional methods. such as Vastine-Kinney method
