  • Look Inside

Carotid angiography with 10cc of Per-Abro-dil-M (Bayer) revealed as excellent as one with other contrast media.

It was well known in the literature that the less amount and the lower concentration of the contrast media should be the better in order to decrease the complications associa-ted with cerebral angiography.

This study was to determine the smallest and sufficient dosis of the contrast medium.

Angiograms were taken with 2cc or 5cc of 60% or 80% of the contrast medium and 7.5cc or 10cc of the diluted with blood. The filling and the contrast of angiograms were not sufficient, if the dosis of the contrast media was too small, even though it was of high concentration.

It was assumed that 5cc of the contrast medium was the minimal dosis which gave the diagnostically sufficient angiograms. However, the delicate timing was required, if such a small dosis as 5cc was jected. Therefore, the author prefered to use about 10cc of the low concentrated contrast medi-um and has been experienced no complica-tions.
